Basically have 200+ hours.

Anyway thankyou so much for reading this!

If you get recruited for baseball or soccer, that helps a ton. Your SAT I is on the lower end of the middle 50% but URM helps, though your SAT II’s are on the lower side. I think you have a pretty good chance. Also, not trying to be rude, but unless your parents donate money to the college, I don’t think higher income is a hook.

Because of your URM status, AA should make it fairly likely that you’ll be admitted. I doubt you’ll get much financial aid though so if your family’s income is tied up in assets then that might be a problem.

Black Gordon Gekko, too awesome to be rejected.

you can call me gordon

Are you saving both Teldar Paper and that other malfunctioning corporation called the United States of America?

I am not a destroyer of companies. I am a liberator of them! The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA. Thank you very much.

Honestly, I hated Gordon. :p

You have a decent chance, imo. Your URM status will boost your chances to a level where you’re seriously considered for admission.

thanks for your input :)

this will kill the admission.

maybe you should apply to USC, Univ. of Florida or Pepperdine, where you will fit in better.

[note: just kidding, ha!]

still try to raise your SAT score to about 2250ish. Even though you’re a URM, I’m not so sure that it would help you as much given your family income. Keep in mind though that if you were White or Asian, your chances would probably be 5-10%ish. If the admissions committee sees past your race and more onto your family income, then those may very well be your chances.

ya…hes in at all or most of HYPS.

princeton is need blind so having a large income doesnt help. it just means that if they accept you, you’ll more likely be able to afford to go, btw

good luck tho :)

Do you think my income will cancel out my URM status?

^ Highly possible.

What does being “attractive” have to do with admissions?

I don’t think income cancels out URM status (though I personally think that affirmative action would be more effective if it was based on socioeconomic factors rather than race). An African-American from my school was accepted to Princeton, Harvard, and MIT (the only person to get accepted to all three of these schools) despite being an average student by my school’s standards (which are admittedly high, but even so only about 15/400 students go to Ivys or equivalent schools) and being in a high income bracket. I would say that raising your SAT’s is the best thing for you to do at this point. If you manage 2250+, I would say you’re in.

Thanks for all of the constructive feedback. I’m going to take the ACT in early september and I’m anticipating a 33-34.

Your subject test scores, quite frankly, are not good compared to most Princeton admittees. Also, I do think that your high income will cancel out your half-URM status. It’ll be a longer shot for you than it will be for most people - assuming, of course, that you don’t get recruited for either of your sports.

Keasbey Nights is right in that your scores, in all honestly, are pretty below average for Princeton. However, your income will ABSOLUTELY do NOTHING to harm you. You are still a URM and colleges quite frankly dont give a dam if you lived in a trailer park or an estate. After all, your scores are still prbly above average when compared to other URMs who you will be competing against, and if they admit you (which is likely), you will still be a person who would enhance “campus racial diversity.”

My SAT’s are only like 50 pts below avg… whatever

How about chances at Brown?
