-I know there aren't many safety schools so give some percentages if you can-

please please please chance…i will most definitely definitely definitely chance you back…!

bajajma, do you need financial aid? It makes a big difference for internationals.

can someone also chance me for BC?

Your international status is a good hook, not needing aid is a big plus, and your ECs look good. Your SAT is right around the 50th percentile for Reed, and your GPA would be okay by U.S. standards, but test scores and GPA count for only 20% or less of Reed admission criteria; interview and essays together count for more. I would guess match for Reed, meaning 50/50. You should know why you want to attend Reed (more than “it’s a good school”); it’s up there with UChicago and Swarthmore in academic load.

It’s still a hook even if the competition is tough; it just means that some spots are reserved for internationals–which internationals is another issue. Don’t use HYPS as the normal case; they are reaches for everyone. That some internationals haven’t heard of some schools is another reason for the hook; think of it as an invitation to apply.

can someone suggest some safeties

I’ll suggest Hamilton College as well…maybe even a safety/match. I think you have a great shot at BC as well. I see you have a good deal of LAC on that list…if you have Claremont, maybe add Pomona. Some more safeties could be Univ. of Maryland, Tulane, GW, BU, Villanova. I know you might not think all of those are safeties, but trust me…you’ll get in. Also add Bowdoin, Colby, and Macalaster if you want more LAC

any other safeties…what about clark university?

also to increase my chances of getting into chicago, reed and claremont…how much should i raise my stats?

Any increase in your stats raises your chances, but how much for a significant increase? There’s no way to know. E.g., at Reed, GPA and test scores count for no more than 20% of admission criteria.

UChicago: lower
Claremont McKenna: middle
Wesleyan: middle-higher
University of Michigan: middle-higher
Reed: middle-higher
Trinity: good
Lafayette: good
Rochester: very good
Lehigh: good

Please chance back:
