Chance and Match Me, por favor! :)

I am currently in eighth grade, and I am applying to prep schools this fall. My family is considering a move to the Boston area, so if we decide to move, I would be attending as a day student (if I am admitted, that is(: ) at some area boarding schools (Exeter, Andover, Milton, Groton, Middlesex)

I'm taking the following classes this year:
American History 8 (standard; honors not offered in this class), A+
GATE Language Arts 8 (Gifted and Talented; basically an honors class), A+
Science 8 (standard; honors not offered), A+
Spanish 2 , A
Honors Geometry, B or B+
Choir

For extracurriculars and sports, I participate in horse shows on my own horse throughout the summers, and during the school year I compete in the Interscholastic Equestrian Association, a national horseback riding competition program modeled after college equestrian programs. I am also on a competitive cheerleading/gymnastics team at a local gymnastics gym. I have played field hockey in past years, and given the opportunity, I would like to play field hockey in high school. I'm a member of my school's Power of the Pen team, which is a competitive creative writing team. I also participate in my school's theatre department and am in the school musical this fall.

The grades listed next to the classes above are what I expect my grades to be based on how I'm doing as of recently. I expect to have A-pluses in every class except Spanish and Honors Geometry. In Spanish I can expect an A (it comes easily to me), and in Honors Geometry I expect to have a B, possibly a B+.

I would be applying for FA (most likely, it's not for certain just yet) and I took the ACT last Spring, scoring a 27 composite, my lowest score being in Math (23) and my highest being in English (29).

Based on all that, what are my chances of being admitted to the schools listed above? Which of the schools above do you expect would appeal to me most?

Thanks in advance! :)

Hello again :P. Long time no chat. I think you look like a fine candidate overall. I mean, theres not that much to discuss. You have it all- sports, POTP, (almost) 4.0GPA, Musical Theater. For now, i’d say just focus on the essays, interviews, getting to know your teachers well, etc. Only advice I can think of is try to work a little community service into your repertoire. Good luck!

Watch out on the fact that lots of day students wish they were boarders because they feel like they have missed out on the bonding experience of living with everyone else. What is your predicted SSAT scores or if you have already taken them, what are they? if you get low SSATs they might cancel your decent grades out. Be warned lots of the boarding schools you mention don’t have cheerleading/gymnastics. Also, applying for FA is real risky, even the ‘need blind’ schools take into some consideration the fact your applying for FA.

Besides that you look like a pretty good candidate, do you do any community and service?

Other than that, you can’t really ask any of us which schools might appeal to us because most schools fit with people personality wise, but if I were you I would take into consideration a school with a good horseback riding team.
