HOOKS
started my own graphics/web design company to help out my family through high school, worked as page with US house of rep

notes: my gpa sophomore year suffered b/c parents divorce + having to work. but my junior year had only 2 B's for fall semester and 1 B for spring.

I'm concerned about my GPA and SAT II scores.

My second choice is Wesleyan if anybody knows about that school.
I'm trying to figure out whether to apply to Brown ED or Wesleyan ED.

Any help appreciated because ED is coming up soon.
I can help chance you for UC schools (I don’t know others as well).

Will chance back for CA schools.

I’m actually in your -exact- same position. I was debating between Wesleyan and Brown for ED. I decided on Wesleyan though because of my personality and desire for a smaller school.

Your scores are a little low, but you have great extracuriculars. Make sure to write some stellar essays about those experiences, especially the page, which sounds interesting. Explain your lowish sophomore year scores if you feel the need to. Grade trends speak more though.

You definitely have a shot though. :)

I have a chance thread for Wesleyan ED and I’d love if you would take a peak since you know both schools.

Oh wow really!
I was talking about this dilemma with my sister and she was asked me sarcastically, “Well, have you found anybody on those college forums who are in the same situation as you?” haha!

I’m don’t know enough about admissions at Wesleyan to chance you (If I knew, I wouldn’t be asking).

I always thought their average entering GPA was around 3.7-3.8 (according to collegedata.com and others), but my counselor has a USNews Premium Edition, and according to that, it was 4.0 UW last year.

Do you know what field you want to go into or what classes you want to take at Wesleyan?

I like small schools, but Wesleyan is a little too small for me. Have you visited?

with strong essays, you probably have a shot with brown. however, since you never know how ivy league schools are, the school is a reach for you. just work on the essays, make sure theyre strong, maybe talk about your family problems on ur essay. good luck!

Yup, I have and I am overnighting this weekend. My advisor said it’s a probable school for me, so if you go take a look at my thread you can see what she meant by that, I suppose. Feel free to message me and I’ll answer questions about it.

I want to do a unique Wesleyan major called College of Letters which combines History, Philo. and Lit. Or Gender and Sexuality.

Brown is an extreme reach for you.
