So based on your grades, extracurriculars, and level of rigor, I would say you have a good chance. I’m going to assume you’ll do quite well at the SAT since your grades look good otherwise that could hold you back. Because of your ethnicity, you also have a better chance (not to be discriminatory or anything) but as with every other family in the united states, I’m sure tuition and costs are a concern. BU has this funky formula of calculating financial need. Even if your EFC is 0 they’re going to expect you to cough up more even if you can’t. So you’ll need to do quite well on your SAT’s if you want to get some decent aid. Especially if BU is your number one choice for college, you should try and (politely) harrass the fin. aid office for more money. Hope that helps! BU is a great school but on the more expensive side too!

You will definitely need to retake the SATs, SAT II, and/or ACT. Those scores would seriously hold you back in financial aid and even getting in. You don’t need a perfect score, but I would think around 1700s to 1800s would be ok. Get a Princeton Revie book (or take the class - but hose are pricey), which is an excellent and very down to earth book that uses quite a bit of humor and has many well thought up study tips.

Also… SAT Prep courses listed for EC? Thats a little absurd. I mean I took SAT classes too sophmore and senior years of high school, but I never put them down on my resume. I also did Drivers Ed. after school… but even though those are technically ECs, they don’t really show much about yourself. The other things are OK.

OMG thanks so much guys! BU atm is my top school, I even emailed the admissions director telling her my conern and that I’m interested in BU. So that’s good, step 1 is showing interest. Now I just have to raise the SAT/ACT. I certainly see what you guys are saying that the SAT/ACT holding me back – I feel the same excat way. I just recieved my paycheck so I’m going to buy a Princeton Review and study my tail off. With a lot of studying, I know I can do it.

Again thank you guys SO MUCH. You guys are reeally helpful. If you ever have a chance thread, I’ll be there. =]

P.S. After thinking, I am not going to put SAT Kaplan Prep as an E.C…seems pretty stupid lol (because I’m pretty sure everyone else has taken a class or something to that effect).

One more time, THANKS!

well you have a lot of things working for you! you really need to up the scores tho… shoot for a 26+ on the ACT or a 1200/1850… study hard for it and then i think you’re fine!!
