Chance at Duke

Hello, I was wondering what chances I have at Duke. I am a current senior and just applied to Brown, Duke, and Princeton. I have had interviews at each.
Valedictorian of a class of about 40 students.
SAT around 2120
ACT- 30
SAT IIs- 680 in Math II, 650 in Bio
I only sent my ACT to these schools though.

I have a 4.0 GPA
My classes are:
9 grade- Honors English, Honors Physics, Honors Geometry, Lab Band, Ancient and Medieval History, Honors Spanish 2
10 grade- Honors modern european history, Honors Spanish 3, Honors Algebra II, Lab Band Honors English, and Honors Chemistry
11 grade- Honors Precalc, Honors English, Honors Biology, Lab Band, Honors Spanish 4/5, and APUSH (I got a 3 on the AP test and I did not send it to these schools)
12 grade- AP English, Psychology, AP Spanish, AP Calculus AB, AP Environmental Science, and Lab Band
I got A's in all of these courses so far

My extracurriculars are:
All-state Flute player from 6th grade to 11th grade
Junior Philharmonic
I have been taking lessons since 7th grade
President of the Defenders (club) and Vice P. of the Spanish Club (11th grade), Senior Prefect (a leadership position)
Captain of Bball team from grades 11-12
Editor of School "Literary magazine"
Had a job last summer at a food place at a local mall
Volunteer every summer at my school's summer activities and various camps.

Duke: Match (you have a very good chance)
Brown & Princeton: Low reach (they’re a reach for everyone but your stats look good and different then most kids who apply there)
Good luck!

How many APs does your school offer? But anyways you look really strong. I would say to try adn increase the standardized tests but it’s a little to late. Good Luck!

what do you guys think my %s are for each?

Well, your EC’s are good, and the fact that you’re valedictorian will help. Obviously, the 4.0 GPA is great as well. I just have one question: seeing as you seem to only have been taking AP courses lately, is that because your school didn’t offer them or because you chose not to? Because that will play a role in admissions. Your SAT’s are a bit low for those schools, but your GPA and EC’s will probably counter them.

Princeton: Reach (< 10% chance)
Duke: High Match/Low Reach (20-40% chance)
Brown: Match/High Match (50-75% chance)

Oh cool, are you saying Princeton’s more selective than Brown? I thought Brown is going to be more selective this year.
Don’t you think I have my greatest shot at Duke?

Junior Phil is a bigtime EC. Play it up at interview time. GL

Rappa: I like the % thing. This site needs more of that.

Your ACT is weaker than your SAT. :/

That’s really the only weak thing I see, though. It’s pretty significant, though.

I can percentage chance you tomorrow if you nag me enough.

Do you think I’m Brown/Duke/Princeton material?

boost the sat by like 100-200 pts, and the act by 3-4 points, and your chances will be rly good!

chance back? ^

Ignore jetsfan and THERAPPA. Duke is every bit as competitive as Brown and Princeton.

Each school is essentially a toss up. You have good enough stats to be competitive and that is all any one can really say. Good luck to you. You may get rejected from all 3, waitlisted, or accepted to 1 or more.

Your GPA is fine, Val status is good and ECs are excellent.
But your drawbacks are SAT/ACT scores and lack of APs.
Here is a quote from Mr. Guttentag admissions director at Duke:

Guttentag said the bar for acquiring a top score in each of the categories is continually increasing. Seven or eight years ago, five Advancement Placement exams with a score of five would warrant the top score in Duke’s achievement category. Today, about half of the applicants meet this standard.

Brown-Match
Duke-Low Reach/High Match
Princeton-Low Reach
