Good chances I would say!

Thanks!! Sadly I wont rank in the top 10% of my class (just outside at 11.1%) because my school and class is extremely competitive(ranked 268 in the nation for public schools). Will this hurt my chances a lot?

To answer your questions:

Being a full-pay student NEVER gives you an advantage in admission to top private colleges. All top 25 colleges are needs-blind in admissions.

Being out of the top 10% won’t hurt you at Georgetown, but it will hurt you at Columbia. For Cornell, it really depends on which school your apply to.

As for chancing, I don’t think anyone can accurately chance you unless you tell us: your ethnicity, whether you have any hooks, which major you’re applying for, which schools you’ll be applying to at Georgetown, Columbia, and Cornell, what you’re planning to do w/ your upcoming summer, and why you aren’t in the top 10% with a 4.0 GPA (seriously, how does a 4.0 UW translate into 11.1%?).

I’m an Indian male…no hooks lol. Biological sciences with premed track. For the summer, medical research hopefully at Vanderbilt and doctor shadowing at local hospital inGA. As I said, my school is very competitive in general and my class is literally a shark tank compared to the rest of the school and previous classes

Thanks for the info. Here’s what I think of your chances:

Columbia - High reach for ED. Columbia ED is extremely competitive, so it’ll be quite difficult even with your stats.
Cornell - Low reach for ED. Cornell ED is the least competitive among the ivies so I think you have an excellent chance of getting in.
Georgetown - Low reach for EA. Based on admissions statistics, Georgetown EA is actually more competitive than RD. Also, you can’t ED to another school if you apply EA to Georgetown.

If you’re trying to decide which school to apply to ED, I’d recommend Cornell over Georgetown and Columbia. Cornell’s science programs are strong and you have a good chance of getting in. Furthermore, Georgetown’s science programs aren’t that great (although the school’s proximity to NIST and NIH is definitely useful).

Depends on which school in Cornell you apply. If you apply to agriculture, it’s probably a match. If you apply to arts and science, it’s probably a high match or low reach. Columbia is probably a low reach and Georgetown EA is a match.

Bumpppppppp
