Academics:
I am from one of the best schools in New Delhi,India and it is very very competitive. We do not follow the American education system so I had to study for SATs, and APs myself, no AP courses. Also keep in mind that the Indian education system is much more rigorous at the high school level vis-a-vis the American high school system.
No GPA or school rank, we follow percentage system
I can only give you the SECTION rank where section is a subset of class. There are roughly 18 sections in each class comprising of 50 students each.
Class 10th- 94.3% Sec Rank-2
Class 11th- 88% Sec Rank-3 (Very tough year for everyone)
Class 12- Exams due, will work hard

So you guys want to view the page but you can’t leave a comment…

As hard as it is to give real chances on many of the threads on this forum, it’s much harder to do so here because we don’t fully understand the school system and the context within which you’ve done this. Admission is also different for foreign students, since it’s not need blind. Moreover, part of the decision is based on how well you’d fit at Brown - why would you be able to make the most of your Brown experience if you go there?

I do wish you the best of luck in the college process, but I’m not sure many of us can give you a serious idea of what your chances truly are.

Kind of curious about Science Olympiad in 6-8th as well. Got a fairly significant amount of medals both regional and state.

We’re humans, we like to look and observe but we are too lazy to take action such as write a comment. Sorry if you don’t like us humans. On behalf of all of us humans, we’re sorry.

jkjk

Your international. It’s quite difficult for us to determine if a US student can get in (hence why chance threads are pretty inaccurate). So for us to “chance” an international student, like you, it makes it more difficult. If we can barely know how they calculate admissions for US students, we pretty much are clueless about how they calculate admissions for international student.

The applications don’t really allow room to post grade 6-8 marks. However, I suggest you use the Additional Information section of the common app to say you have won x number of science olympiads beginning in grade 6 & up and that you’ve had longterm interest in the sciences. Also, this is a good place to mention that you have self-studied for AP’s. Brown’s general admission rate is v low. It is even lower when it comes to foreign students - especially ones asking for aid. Do your best. With your writing skills, you should have superb essays. Spend a lot of time on the application. But don’t set your hear on one school - have some good safeties on your list. Good luck!

God I wish my resume looked like this… haha
