My child was admitted with similar stats - 3.8 uw, 3.9 w; small private school in Ca that doesn’t rank, but has very hard curriculum. Also lots of good extracurriculars like yours. The ACT score was “only” 28.

So, at least comparing you to my child - I would say that you stand a very good chance!
Good luck!

uw would probably be a safety, but foster definitely wouldnt be for you. it is getting harder and harder to get into foster each year, with about 500 out of 5000+ that applied being accepted this year. i would almost consider you a reach from being admitted to foster, everyone i heard that has gotten in (including myself) has had a significantly higher gpa than you. im not trying to be harsh, just a few words of warning not to consider foster as a safety.

uw offers their econ program through the college of arts and sciences, not through foster. i had my orientation yesterday and today, and foster has an explicit written goal to try to become the number one ranked undergraduate business school in america. the new paccar hall is going to be a state of the art facility opening next year, and uw has already been climbing the rankings each year. the future looks bright at foster

I just discovered your confusion. The Foster school offers classes in Business Econ, but not a formal option. The Foster school offers six formal options, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, HR Management, Marketing, and Information Systems. You can also do a CISB or an informal concentration. You could take classes in business econ as an informal concentration but your degree would just say general business as it is an informal concentration.

Ahhh okay, if I went Foster I think I would major in entrepenuership or however its spelt haha, alot of the other biz schools im applying to do have entrepenuership so thats cool.

Hmm… now I am VERY confused about Foster.
You all are saying its hard to get into: are you just talking about MBA?

I wanted to go to UW for undergrad and major in Business.
So with Foster being very competitive, does this mean I can’t major in busniess if I don’t apply to [and get into] Foster?
Also, I wanted to do International Business. Does Foster/UW have a specific International Program, or is just like with economics [mentioned in above posts] that it only has a few classes for it?

I’m just a junior in HS, out of state, so it would be super helpful with my college search to know more about this. UW is my number one college choice as yet.

Foster has BOTH undergrad and grad I believe. You can major in business through Foster and yes I believe they do have International Busines through Foster. Economics is typically offered through either Art/Sciences schools under universities or Liberal Arts school. Most dont have economics through the business school because it is technically a social science.

No, it is very difficult to get into as an undergrad as well. If you don’t apply and get into Foster, then you can’t major in business. But if you put business as your intended major when applying to uw, you can get in directly, and don’t have to fill out the foster application. Foster does have a specific international program, its the CISB. I am gonna be a freshman at UW this fall and was directly admitted to Foster.

If you are interested in international business, there is a major in International Studies that could be a back up along with economics, if you don’t get into the business school.

Cool glad to hear it, as of now my SAT is really bad (1840, 1220 Math and Reading), but my ACT studying is going very well and im feeling good about a solid 29-32
