I'm about to finish up my junior year at a public high school in the hampton roads area of virginia. Virginia tech is my top choice for college, please give me any advice on how to improve my chances at getting in or if you go there tell me what you think!</p>

SAT: 1720 (crit. reading: 620, Math: 530, Writing: 570)
AP Classes taken: human geography, world history, us history, psychology, english lang & comp (gov, english lit, and env. sci. next year)
lots of honors classes too</p>
<p>I'll have been on the school newspaper staff for three years next year (good chance at being editor next year :) i'm the sports editor now)</p>
<p>Three years field hockey team (jv/varsity)
one year jv soccer
two years varsity swimming</p>
<p>three summers of volunteering at a hospital</p>
<p>two jobs: restaurant hostess, currently a lifeguard.</p>
