I just really really want to get into GWU!! Also, it would be nice if anyone who was accepted mentions their stats. oh..and my essay was pretty good and the recommendations were great. GPA is around 3.4 (my school doesn't calculate gpa but this is what i mentioned) and class rank is top 10%. Also I applied for financial aid-if that helps. And i did apply ED 2 to George Washington university but later was forced to shift to regular decision because my Jan SAT was supposed to arrive a few days after they would review my file. Also, i'm a NJ resident
Anyway..thanks for reading all of this!

Points that are going to help you:
*You live in Pakistan. They want diversity.
*Good EC’s.
*You’re both international and US student, so thats good. No visa issues to worry about.
*Good recs help alot for admissions. Same thing goes for essays. Those two can make up about 20-40% of your admissions decision.

Points that are going to hurt you:
*Your SAT Reasoning and SAT subject test scores probably would not cut it for a top tier university like GWU.
*Your GPA is probably very average/ low compared to GWU applicants.
*You’re applying for financial aid.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask anymore questions.

@ PunjabiScholar thanks for replying!
I understand my academic stats are on the lower end but frankly there’s nothing I could really do at this point :stuck_out_tongue:
Also, Isn’t GWU’s admission office and office of financial aid separate? I thought that wouldn’t make a difference. Should I tell them that I would not like to opt for FA? I come from a fiscally stable family and we could afford college but should I cancel my FA or not-I mean only if it would increase my admittance chances.
Well…thanks again for answering!
btw…are you pakistani? lol

Yes, its true that their fin aid office and admissions offices are “separate”. But the job of the financial aid office is to basically collect all your info and give u a package. But if you remember, there was a yes/no question within your application that asked if you were going to apply for financial aid or not. So they do take that into consideration. People who do not apply for FA have a slightly (though minimal) better chance of getting in.

And no, you should not take back your FA application now because theres a 98% chance that your decision has already been made. They will most likely post the results on the 24th of March (next week). So no point in taking back now. Just relax.

And no, Im not pakistani. Im Indian (though its basically the same thing)

ohhh…well thanks. Hopefully i’ll get in. wish me luck! and yeah, indian pakistani same thing lol :)
