Chance at GWU

I know i may be to young to make decisions but I have had my eye set on this college for 2 years, same with my degree.

My major problem is my GPA, I am trying really hard to bring it up but its going to take a alot of effort.

Grade: 10th Sophmore
School: West Springfield High School
GPA: Freshman Year: 2.714 (Horrible)
Sophomore 1st Quarter: 3.1
Sophomore 2nd Quarter: (Not arrived, around a 3.3)
Taking 1 Pre-Ap and 1 Honors class this year.

Member of College Partnership Program (College Bound)

Sports:
Indoor and Outdoor track since freshman year

Etc:
Getting my varsity letter soon (not aiming though for a varsity position in college)
Competing in FBLA soon
Taking on a position next year in FBLA
The CPP Program is a program with College Bound fused in.
I am promised 3 Teacher Recommendations from classes I have A's in and my Counselor Recommendation.
PSAT Scores: 1600 (out of 1800)

Background Stuff:
Family is of Russian Jewish Descent, First generation to go to college.
Conversant in Russian
Reaching Fluency in Hebrew and Spanish.
Taking All AP's next year

NOTE: I Live near GWU (20 minutes) parents willing to pay everything, I am aiming for a masters in management of technology. Planning on getting a job over summer and doing community work and taking leadership roles, Also
I will have a interview with them once and at least 2-3 trips to the campus.

Other Choices: GMU (Really don't want to go to a commuter college)

u have some work to do, but it certainly isn’t out of your reach…good luck!!

bump, This is now “How am i looking?” “Am i taking the right path?”

As long as you bring your GPA up, and get good SAT scores, you should get into GWU. It isn’t as tough as it seems.

And George Mason is definitely a reach. :]

Ooh, sorry… I meant to say George Mason is definitely an in/safety.
Sorry!

ah yea, you need to get the GPA up, but as long as you are improving and have it increase each year, then that would look like you are trying very hard to improve. By the way, how is it that your PSAT is 1600 out of 1800? its suppose to be out of 240 or 2400.

thanks bump

I agree with everyone else. If you work hard to bring up that GPA over the next couple of years and do well on the SAT (1900+), you should be good for GW. Your EC and willingness to pay will also help you. Good luck!

Chance me (applying to GW this year)?
