Chance at Harvard/MIT/Columbia?

Background:

I haven't always been a popular or socially accepted student at my school district. The social thing was a result of me being shy which alienated lots of people who wanted to talk to me. English is not my first language (it's actually my third after Chinese and Flemish however I have lived in USA for 10 years). My lack of social interaction in the early parts of high school greatly affected my grades because I lacked motivation to do well. However, I managed to work my personality out and I'm a really outgoing person now with lots of friends. I also do well in school, mostly A's and a few B's.

AP/Honors Courses I have taken in Senior/Junior years:

AP Calculus - A
AP Physics - B
AP Statistics - A+
AP European History - B+
AP Chemistry - A-
AP Computer Structures/Science AB - A
AP American Studies - B+
Honors PreCalculus - A+
Honors Science Fiction - English - A
Honors American Literature - B

My GPA, which is not reflective of my intelligence, is a 3.5/4.2 (Dismal I know, but mostly because of my Freshman/Sophomore years)

SAT Scores:

Critical Reading: 660
Math: 750
Writing: 750

SAT II Scores:
Math Level 2: 800
Chemistry: 770
Chinese: 800

EC:
Student Council/Government Treasurer - I organize dances, fundraisers, and I manage the SG newsletter which I created
Computer Club President - I organize meetings and field trips (notable one was to MIT Museum)
Diversity Club Leader/President - I organize meetings and interact with the members
Math Tutor - I tutor fellow students in Pre-Calculus and Calculus
Indoor/Outdoor Track - Varsity Sprinter 50/100/200/300M Races

I am committed to each and every one of my EC's. I have more but I don't feel these four are my main and most important ones.

Jobs:
Front Desk at a Medical Facility

So kindly, what are my chances at the colleges listed above? If there is any more information needed, please ask!

First, definitely write your essay about the whole Flemish thing (where did you live?). You have a decent chance, but perhaps better EC’s would have been nice; just make sure it is CLEAR that you are really active in these clubs.

In Belgium, but I’m writing my essay on my character development throughout high school.

Thank you for your input

dude, i’d suggest taking another SAT II. the average score for SAT II Chinese is a 760. they would be more impressed if you had the 800 or at least 720 in Lit. Just my one dollar there.

the Lit might even be easier than the SAT 1, i know i only got 710 in Cr b/c instead of learning words like i was supposed to in the summer, i was out playing video games and working through a grammar book…:(

Thanks… But I don’t think I will take another SAT II, it’s too stressful

for harvard, you need three sat ii’s and one cannot be a native language.

i’m not sure though, so i suggest you check.
