Chance at Indiana University Bloomington Transfer

I currently attend Ball State University (Muncie, IN), and it was not the school of choice. I currently have a gpa in the range of 3.2 to 3.4 (2 A's and 3 B's). I don't know for sure because professors hardly ever update grades.

I am taking:
Math 136 (A, 4 credits)
Math 111 (B-, 3 credits)
Hist 150 (B+, 3 credits)
Geol 101 (B, 3 credits)
Fin 101 (A, 1 credit)

The reason I'm going to Ball State is because my mediocre high school grades. I was originally denied to IUB and wait listed to Purdue, but I immediately accepted Ball State when they said yes to my application. (I never checked back on Purdue's application). I wish to go to IU to pursue a math degree, which IU is one of the best in the state for math.

HS gpa was 2.8
I took 2 AP classes and the only extracurricular activities I did were DECA (2 years, team member), "We the People" (1 semester, government debate team), and I was employed (3 years). My SAT was 1710 and I only took it once. My high school career fit the requirements for IU freshman, my grades just weren't competitive enough.

I was wondering what my chances of being accepted to IUB for transfer would be. I am applying after my first semester at Ball State so they can see that my grades are higher. I am apply to transfer for Fall 2011.

Thank you for any of your help and I appreciate your time.

I think a solid 3.2-3.4 should be good for a transfer. Just make sure it doesn’t get any lower than that and you should be alright.

Okay. Thank you. The admission office can’t reveal information due to possible lawsuit issues (if they say a student can get in and they get rejected in the end). I also couldn’t find any statistics for the average transfer student to IUB.
