Please tell me if there is any chance of me getting in and what i can do to improve my app (i know theres a lot).

what are you doing this summer?

Get better grades and get a good SAT score, and you’ll have a better chance. :)

And take the ACTs.

Since you are an URM, that will help.

Penn and Cornell might be a little bit of a stretch right now, but it won’t be too crazy of a reach if you raise your grades/test scores

i know that being a urm will help. im hoping that i can get at least a 2200 on the sat. Also, this summer im taking a program at maryland for credits.

find an activity to volunteer for in your community that interests you.

It is also important to put sometime into PSAT/SAT prep this summer. Once school starts, you wont have as much time.

im thinking about taking a class but i heard those are a waste of time. should i just read a bunch of books?

A big yes on the books. As a 2400/36er, my best piece of advice is just to familiarize yourself with the exam. Don’t make hundreds of vocab flash cards because that can only help you on the vocab sentence completion part, and the chances of a word you study showing up on the exam is low enough that you’d be better off playing some video games or something. See if you can’t finish a book (novel or non-fiction, doesn’t really matter) every 2 weeks or so and flip through a practice book as well.

As for the chancing, your ECs look really good. All I can suggest is working on your GPA a little. A 3.6 is probably too low for Wharton. Best of luck to you.

act is easier- aim for a 34
get national merit on the psat-- in maryland you need like a 220 i think?? it looks so good for college. commended is easy to get though-- only like a 205 or so
raise your grades esp junior year

should i take the act and the sat?
