Is that your weighted or UW gpa? Either way, it’s really low. Your SAT is also in the bottom of the middle 50%. Your ECs are good, but you’re an international student which makes it even harder to get in. Lafayette is also not need-blind, so your EFC is definitely going to put you off. I’d say LC is a pretty big reach.
^^^also I forgot to mention, an essay about your best friend is almost a sure-fire way to get rejected. Schools want to hear about you, not anyone else. It’s okay if you wrote about how something they did changed YOU, but it’s still risky.

Thank you for the replies
however, the essay only has my friend’s name -the rest stories are mine on how i overcame my hurdles and turned out to be a different person later.
Regarding the EFC , my CSS was waived initially before submitting, but after i submitted i mailed them again, and they replied that it wasn’t necessary for now,since there have been lot of request for CSS waiver and they would not consider that for selection.
SO,that way i hope my financial status wont affect. The rest I hope its positive.
Your financial status will play a role in that you are looking for significant aid. Per Lafayette’s website for international students “the awarding of aid is extremely competitive.” Given that your GPA and standardized tests are below average for the college I think your chance of acceptance is quite low. I hope you have applied to other less competitive schools and that you are also looking at college options in your home country.
You might apply to Allegheny (if not too late). I have no idea what they might offer as far as FA for an international applicant, but they are strong in ES and you could potentially get nice merit with your stats.
To be blunt, it is tough according to your stats unless you’ve got a miraculous essay. I am also from Nepal and applying under ED II to Lafayette for Engineering. Coincidentally, our Efc matches lol. I am a bit low in ECAs tho.
@Lazybot
cool!
can you share your stats ?
and did you receive css waiver code?
They said me i would be provided with one after i submit my application.however, when i mailed them after that they replied that it wasn’t needed for now and they would review without CSS, since they are receiving numerous waiver request and have decided to review applications without considering financial aid documents or regardless of EFC
