Do you think I have a good/decent chance of acceptance to any of these universities?
btw I’m an International student

Can anyone please take the time to chance me!!!

MIT is extremely tough for internationals ( 3 % acceptance approx). You have higher chances at harvard and Caltech. Your stats are great, your
EC’s are also amazing. I think you have a better chance than most, you’ll just need that extra bit of luck to get in. You fit the profile for these schools, but they’re reaches for everyone.

Caltech will be equally tough as well. You are Indian, yes? It is an overrepresented minority, so that puts you at a disadvantage. Also, financial aid will be tough, so you would need to be willing to pay $60k per year.

The college with the highest SAT scores from BUSINESS INSIDER August article. 1. Caltec 2300 2. Harvard 2260 3. Princeton 2255 3. Yale 2255 3. U. Chicago 2255 6. MIT 2235 7. Washington U. 2220 8. Columbia 2215 8. Vanderbilt 2215 10. Franklin Olin 2214 11. Stanford 2210 12. Northwestern U. 2200 13. Harvey Mudd 2195 13. Pomona 2195 15. Dartmouth 2190 Of course this number is not everything for college admission but good to know. Good Luck !

@meriks‌ Thanks for the reply. I know those schools are reaches, just applying for the sake of it. Admission to these universities are such a crapshoot.
What universities do you sugges I should apply to, If I want to major in Physics (apart from the ivies and the MIT’s) ???

For physics these schools are good
UC Berkeley
UC santa barbara
University of illinois urbana champaign
johns hopkins

You can add UC LA, UC SD and U Michigan (ann arbor), and UT austin.

But you should consider UC Berkely as one of your top choices, can be considered better than most ivies.

Are you try to find a job in U.S. after graduate college that means you need to switch visa status from student visa to working visa?

@bambi0611‌ Yes, working in the US requires a seperate working visa.
