Chance at NCSU, UNC, Duke, maybe Harvard?

<p>I would really like to get into NCSU, because of their Chemistry and Biochemistry programs (I may double major), but UNC is a serious consideration for me, too. Duke is more of an afterthought, and I am only asking out of mild interest. Harvard and its like are definitely reach schools, but I would like to get input on that area too.</p>

<p>I have taken 3 AP's as of the end of my junior year - Chemistry, APUSH, and English Language. I will have taken AP Calc AB, AP Physics, and AP English Lit. by the end of my senior year.</p>

<p>SAT - 1st time: 1860
2nd time - TBD (will know in a few days, thought I did better)
ACT - 31
GPA: Unweighted - somewhere between a 3.8 and 3.9 last time I checked, not sure
Weighted - 4.83
Class Rank: 15/112
100+ hours of community service</p>

<p>I want to major in Chemistry/Biochemistry, or double major in both at NCSU (which is my main choice right now), so I have taken all of my science classes as Hrs. or AP. Most of my credits are Honors, given that Honors was an option for the course.</p>

<p>Extracurriculars
- 4 years of membership in the county orchestra - violin
- Founding member and principal violinist/fiddler of a subgroup of the orchestra - Celtic/Traditional music
- Soloist/Principal violinist for a subgroup of the orchestra - Chamber Music
- Notable Performances - the Billy Graham Library for Christmas, Belmont Abbey,
- Student Tutoring - Math (Calculus, PreCalc), Chemistry, Biology, Physics
- Summer Biochemistry Lab Camp at UNCC
- Summer Ventures in Math and Science at App State this summer

<p>Duke and Harvard are out of reach. You can get into UNC and are you instate?</p>

<p>Apply ED to Duke. You never know what can happen. It seems highly unlikely that you will be accepted (no offense), but stranger things have happened!</p>

<p>I completely forgot about half of my club memberships when writing this post - things like NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, Sr. Beta, etc. Is there anyway to edit original posts?</p>

<p>NCSU is a match you shouldn’t have a problem. If want to get into Duke you would need to score dramatically higher on the SAT and probably apply early. Good luck
