Chance at Pitt?

<p>Hey, just wanted to know if I have a chance to get in.</p>

<p>I'm from Westchester County, New York.</p>

<p>GPA: 3.4 (88.4 unweighted) (88.98 weighted)</p>

<p>SAT'S: Fairly Low (not a good test taker, will retake in Oct) </p>

<p>CR: 480
Math: 530
Total: 1010</p>

• Additional activities including visiting nursing home, serving at fund-raising dinners, and scoring local basketball games-10, 11, 12</p>

<p>I think your gpa is fine but your SAT's are sort of low for main campus. Maybe if you do a few practice tests, you can raise your score a little. Another thing you might consider if you really have some test anxiety problem is to have your guidance counselor explain that. I do think that you will at least be admitted to a branch campus, and then you could later transfer to Oakland.</p>

<p>I agree w/ikf: your SAT scores are on the low side. Have you considered taking the ACT? Many students do much better on the ACT; the scoring is different.</p>

<p>I woud suggest taking the ACT. You can certainly attempt the SAT again. However, I think you should concentrate on taking the ACT. Good luck!</p>

<p>Everything but your test score is good. You definitely have to retake it or try the ACT. Pitt really looks at the test scores, so make sure you get into that middle 50% range.</p>
