umm u dont need that kinds of stats to get regents...actually u have to be a little stupider than that...say an SAT of 2150 or below and decent GPA...then ure guaranteed for RCS if u were interviewed for it.

sorry im just a little bitter than so many ppl with lower stats than i got it.

stats don't ultimately determine the scholarship. I have friends that were disappointed about not receiving it as well, and I can't for the life of me explain why I got it and they didn't. It really is rather difficult to predict.

Keep in mind before you worry that "your GPA will kill you" as someone said - UCB understands that a 4.0 at one high school is not equal to a 4.0 at another high school. My son was accepted to UCB and was invited to interview for the Regents/Chancellors scholarships. His GPA was 3.83 at a very rigorous high school. His SAT I score was 2190 and he had an 800 for the Math IIC, and 800 for Physics and a 680 for Lit. So indeed UCB doesn't just look for GPA's of 4.0 or higher or perfect SAT scores. He did not do the interview for the Regents as he'd been accepted early decision to his top two choices, Caltech & MIT and already had the financial aid offer from one of those schools so by the time the letter came, he'd already crossed UCB off his list - which was at the bottom of his list from the beginning of his college search. What did get him the offer to interview for the Regents?(and got him accepted early to Caltech & MIT) - my best guess is his demonstrated passion for mathematics nicely balanced with lots of theater experience as well as some leadership involvement at his high school.

i had a 3.75 uw and 5 B's between sophomore and junior year
my weighted was 4.2-4.3 w
my ECs were mediocre at best
the only thing that was good was a 2400 SAT and 2x800 SAT 2's

i don't know what exactly got me the scholarship, whether it was the SAT or the essays or a mix of the 2. honestly, regents (both getting invited to interview and actually receiving the scholarship) seemed really random at both LA and berkeley. I think a lot of it was luck, so good luck next year :) btw you can PM me if you want to see my essays or anything
