Chance at Rice? Reed?

So I graduated in 2000 in the bottom half of my class, scored a 27 on my ACT and went to community college. I left C.C. with a 1.7 gpa ( based on 6 hours). I took 2 years off and then I went back to school in 2004. I now have 45 hours with a 3.75 gpa. I'm in Student Government and the History club. I received the Scholastic leadership award from my college last semester and I am nominated for a couple this semester but those won't be on this application.

I'm looking at Rice right now and am wondering what my chances are. If I don't get in I figure I'll strengthen my app over the summer and re-apply, as well as applying to Reed and UT Austin. Can anyone help me out, I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.

I was also curious how much my poor performance in High School and my first round of C.C. would haunt me. The 3.75 is at another C.C.---Thanks for any help

bump please

hm, well im interested in transferring to UT Austin for fall of 2008 and I contacted their admissions office about it and they said I would need around a 3.6 and 30 transferrable credit hours to get in regardless of the school im transferring from, and my High School GPA was terrible also...so to get into UT Austin I would say you have a pretty good chance, as for Rice I don't know, never looked into that.

Good luck!
