Do i have a shot?

Hi, Seems like you should try to bring up that ACT score. Also, what is your score on the math section? Or you can do the SAT I (would be good for it to be 2100+). Or AP exams, including definitely one Math score that should be strong.

Then you probably would be a closer match for Stern. The other parts of your profile look good from my perspective for consideration into Stern. One last qestion, have you taken the most challenging courses offered in your school?

Yes, I have taken the most rigorous courses. Do you think it would be better for me if I applied to CAS nd then transferred into Stern?

The main shortcoming in your profile appears to be the standardized score. It seems to me that you are not that far away from being in the ball park by trying to raise the ACT score by a few points (and focusing especially on a stronger math score).

From what I have read on this forum, transfers from CAS to Stern do happen but statistically it may be even more competitive to transfer rather than to go for Stern directly. You seem to be so close as a match. Try to get a solid standardized score and/or consider early decision Stern.

2009-2010 ACT middle 50% range for NYU Stern is 31-33 with the mean/ median at 32, according to BusinessWeek.
