I also got a rec letter from an alum whose family has a conference named after them at Swarthmore.

I also applied ED.. yesterday and am dyingggggggggggg to find out.

WHAT DO YOU THINK MY CHANCES ARE??

the school fits me perfectly hafshdflsihfiu

Sweet scores and awesome grades. The research assistant thing is a nice touch, as is the helping developmentally disabled people. Caring like that proves that you are a person willing to do the dirty work for social justice, not just preach about what you think should happen. You really showed you are interested with the overnight and contact with them, and applying ED supposedly gives you a 39% acceptance rate (Yale Guide).

I applied ED, too. I hope it works out for both of us. Can you chance me? Mine’s called Crossing My Fingers.

I would put money on the fact that you will be accepted. You have shown interest in the school (ED/overnight), you have an excellent transcript (One B), and you have great SAT scores (2200+). If you killed your essays, or atleast kicked them, then you are probably in. You are very qualified and it is apparent you want to be a Swattie, but the fact that Swartmore is the #3 ranking school in the country amongst liberal arts colleges can hurt anyones chances. So you never know, it is almost a toss up. But if I was your applicant processor/God, then I would give you the “big” envelope in the mail.
(If things do not work out for me in my Early 1 round I will prob do ED 2 at Swartmore)… maybe I will see you there :P

You seem REALLY passionate about the school, your ec’s are strong, great test scores and course load so I’d say you’re in! Also they say apply ED to swarthmore increases your acceptance rate

Your sat math and subject tests are a little low, but they should be okay. Overall, your gpa, ec’s, and everything makes you seem like a great candidate. Also, your expressed interest should help. I say 75% chance at Swarthmore

thanks for answering mine. and i would say you’ll probbably get in. you have awesome grades, and test scores and stuff. also they usually accept strong candidates who apply Early decision. good luck!

You have a great shot but your tests are a bit low (IIs and Math). You ECs are extensive but lack focus, which may hurt you, but won’t cripple you.

im applying there too. Last year the valedictorian from my school didn’t get in there only because he wasn’t very well-rounded. It is a really hard school to get into no doubt. But I think you have a pretty good chance of getting in. GOOD LUCK!!!

Hey sorry to resurrect this thread!!! I was had just noticed that some one mentioned that staying overnight would improve her/his chances because it showed interest. Is this true? Does this also apply to Ivies?
