I've been at a respectable LAC for the past semester and hoping to transfer next fall to schools like Tufts, NYU, Georgetown, etc. I have taken 300 and 200 level courses and my GPA is 4.0 and my high school GPA is about a 3.9. As far as extracurriculars, I have done a lot of community service and have started a not for profit organization. I have great recommendation letters and also have a great essay and reason for transferring (don't want to get into it but to make a long story short i was abused). What do you think my chances are?

Thank you for your time

Forgot to say that my SAT I is a 2090 and I took two SAT II’s and got a 770 on each one

^Assuming your unweighted gpa is a 3.9 and you took the hardest classes available in your hs, I would say your chances are great. SAT could be better, but I think your strong collegiate performance makes up for it. Hope this helps.

Your chances sound pretty good to me. Obviously have good grades and strong test scores and starting your own non-profit is pretty impressive. However, in your transfer essays it’s important to say why you want to transfer to that school, not just why you want to leave your current one.
