<p>Actually, going to a really good high school helps your chances. Even though a 2.8 gpa isn't really that good (sorry to say), it's a better 2.8 per se than a 2.8 in a bad school. Your curriculum and school api score (that's if your high school is public) is better than some school in east LA or something like that. Going to a private school in itself is a benefit.</p>
