Chance at UCSD?

UCSD: Reach

What UC's do you think i'll get accepted into if my Jr and Sr year I get all A's in the classes I listed, SAT eng and bio scores of at least 700, and a kinda crappy sat score, like 1900 or so?

For UCSD, Third time I've posted this:

<a href="http://admissions.ucsd.edu/dev3/info/comreview.html%5B/url%5D">http://admissions.ucsd.edu/dev3/info/comreview.html</a></p>

Link to UCSD's criterion for the admissions to the class of 2011. You'll know your chances a lot better from estimating points from that sheet and asking UCSD what the class of 2010's average point total was.

Sorry about the double post.

Anyway, take the ACT, who knows you'll quite possibly do much better on the ACT than the SAT I, as I did.

I heard SAT looks better than ACT on your college application

Not for the UCs, they have a conversion of the ACTs to the SATs, as they are considered the same.

Great link there, Golden Bear--the best explanation I've ever seen for what is and is not considered for admission to a particular UC.

Should I take both the SAT and the ACT and just send in the better score? But how would I know which is better because they are graded on a diffrent point scale.

Maybe I should take another AP net year(physics) and aim for all A's...it will be alot of work, about 8 hours of hw a night plus studying stuff from AP classes afterwards...I start hw about 3 in the afternoon so I probably wont be going to sleep till like 12 PM, and waking up again at 6 AM. Or do you think I should go to USF first and then just transfer to UCSF who has the best pharmacy school in America (As you can see, I want to go into pharmacy) What do you guys think I should do?

You cannot transfer into UCSF. UCSF is a graduate only school. They will only accept applicants that have graduated a 4-year institution.

So, since it is impossible to transfer into UCSF, you can either go to USF, graduate with good grades and then apply to UCSF. Or you can apply to a good Pre-Pharmacy Program at UoP (University of the Pacific) which has a guarateed program into its top Pharmacy School if you stay in the program.

Yea, I know UCSF is a grad school, what I meant was going to USF and then afterwards going to UCSF, but I dont think im gonna do that now, i've heard its extremly hard. Either I will go to UoP or a UCSD tag school than to UCSD.

But when you say guranteed program at UoP, does that mean even if you dont have a great PCAT score you will still get in?

And how hard is it to get accepted into UoP? Do you think I will be able to get in if I take the classes I stated in my first post and get all A's?

Also, do you think with the stats I stated in my first post, will I be able to get into University of Michigian (is not a Michigian resident)

i would shoot for UCSD. i dont know about USF or U of P, but i do not think they is held in near as high regard as UCSD. I would also imagine a good GPA out of UCSD would count for a lot more in graduate admissions to UCSF than a USF or U of P degree. But either way, it is important to maintain a high GPA to be considered for UCSF graduate school.
