Chance at University of Chicago EA

<p>hey everyone, so ive just made university of chicago my top choice and im applying early action but based on school statistics do i stand a chance? i would really appreciate any feedback especially from those who have got in to the school.</p>

I have around 500 community service hours, but plan on increasing them over the next year</p>

<p>I got a full scholarship to a Stem Cell summer program at UCLA and got an A+ in the stem cell bio class</p>

<p>also submitting an art supplement with my photography work</p>

<p>Isn’t RYLA more of an award than an EC? I mean, it’s only one weekend…</p>

<p>I think you stand a good chance, as I think you’re the type of student that Chicago looks for. You have to make them want you via your essays, though.</p>

<p>Also, don’t be surprised if Chicago’s admit rate this year falls around or below 10%, thanks to undergraduate housing limitations (due to unexpectedly high yield this year) which will decrease the number of admitted students, along with Chicago’s rise in the rankings this year which will undoubtedly raise application numbers. Unfortunately, such low admission rates make the process extremely arbitrary, so it’s hard to chance someone without looking at their essays. Just know that you have the background to be competitive for Chicago; now you just have to finish the deal with essays.</p>
