I also attend a brand new Magnet School and due to it being new, it does not offer a lot of AP classes.

Also, there is policy where one has to basically pay for the AP exam in order to have AP listed on transcript and due to financial problems, I could only sign up/afford only two AP classes senior year.

If your applying to University of Georgia at Athens the average GPA is a 3.5 so you’re good in that aspect.
Average SAT is a 1700 and ACT comp is 23 I think you will have done that well on the ACT I don’t know about your SAT
You go to a magnet highschool (+) you have an above average gpa (+) good extra curriculars (+) Standarized Test (-) you could write your essay on your financial problems and how you overcame that, and took AP courses for your passion to learn. Honestly i see you as a (Match) at U of G just try your best senior year and good luck.

SAT I got a 1450 (560 CR, 450 M, 440 Writing) First time taking it(Just finished Junior year). And aww thank you :)! And I heard it’s getting competitive each year!. Though if I get Deferred, I already have essay prepped and the best of all,

My recommendations are from teachers who are ap core(and teach electives too) who actually graduated from UGA themselves as Honors.Even my principal who I am very close with and known before high school who attended UGA said she will love to be my recommendation . And yeah I do plan to write about my financial problems and how despite that, i still tried to make the best of my resources…Though I do admit, i have a horrible way of expressing myself…I sound so plain in my essays.

And of course I will do my best Oh! And I am also in the top 12(Maybe top 10 now idk yet I will see when I get back) of my graduating class that will be the first full graduating class at this brand new magnet performing arts school.

Ok so your SAT isn’t the worst definitely can get it into the ballpark!
Recommendations sound very strong (+)
I stress the essay will be very inportant for you. Try your hardest to give the readers a flashback to your life. Don’t explain what and when you did it, give them the how and why stuff. Honestly, you have a great chance even with a average essay if you improve you SAT don’t stress to much. Remember if you increase your SAT you still can’t fold on your senior year all A’s and few B’s ( you should be guranteed a spot) Good luck again!

Haha thanks! And I hope to raise it up more.

And yeah they will, can I send you an email of what essays I done so far? I kinda predicted what prompts may be the same, and what may change.

And I hope I am stronger in ACT…and if not…I want to show UGA that I am more than those test scores and that while my test scores may not be top notch, I know my work ethic and my love for school cannot be measured on any scale.

And haha I’m making sure I have ALL A’s. I’m so picky with my grades.I don’t like settling for less than an A.

sure email at mdspskating @ y-a-ho-o.com
