Also take college classes after school since no time during the day.

How I am doing so far? Do I have a chance for Wharton and the Huntsman Program in International Studies & Business? If not, what can Ido to improve my chances?

I think you have a substantial chance if you continue to earn straight A's and demonstrate leadership... in fact I'm glad you're not in my class! :-) However, bring up your SAT score dramatically or all that hard work might be wasted.

Yeah I'm studying like crazy! :) I took the PSAT in the fall of sophomore yr so it was pretty much all freshman stuff I knew, but hopefully all this studying will help out. Since I'm going for business, what subject tests should I take? and since Wharton is about International Studies, should one of them be Spanish? I didnt take spanish in hs since I know it already, and I wanted to take other languages.

If you're fluent in Spanish, definitely take the Spanish SAT II and maybe the Spanish APs also. That should be an 800 and a couple of 5's to add to your application. It might not mean as much since you are actually hispanic, but obviously it can't hurt. Penn only considers your 2 highest SAT IIs, but if you take Spanish as one of them, I'd take at least 3 (Spanish + at least 2 others). For Wharton, it's important that you take Math Level 2... I'm pretty sure almost everyone who's accepted to Wharton has taken that SAT II. Aside from that, I don't think there are any SAT IIs that they'd prefer over others. The faculty might say they recommend a language one, but that's pretty much just for placement, because tons of kids don't take a language SAT II and get in, including me. Hopefully that helps a bit. Also, I think you have a good chance at getting accepted if you get your SAT up to over 2000, and an even better shot if you were to apply Early Decision.

Thanks I'll definetly consider that. I was planning on taking the math and maybe english? Is the math for the SAT II much different from the SAT one? I'll be getting the Subject Test book soon so hopefully I'll find an area that I'm strong at. I'm definetly thinking about Early Decision, at least if I dont get in I still have time to reapply regular. Thank You

Well, I think it is very important to prove yourself in math. Usually AP BC Math is good enough. I'd be carful on focusing entirely on the SATs. EC and essays tend to outwiegh SATs by alot at Ivy schools.

I wouldn't say ECs and essays outweigh SATs, because after grades, SATs are probably most important, but you need to be really strong in both areas to get into an Ivy.

By the way, you can't minor in international business or communications at Penn. Those are two of the few exceptions. But in case you don't get into Huntsman you can still minor in international relations.

math2c is test over pre calculus, sat 1 only has geo alg1 n 2

Your SAT will be one of the keys.

Yeah I know about the mayors and minors, those are just the areas that I'm most interested in. I do like international relations though. So besides the SAT's what else can I do to improve my chances at UPenn?
