Chance at UVa OOS?

I'm not in the top 10% of my class.. I go to a really competitive school. Do I have any chance? UVa is my top choice.

Thinking about starting to volunteer at a nursing home??

The percentage of people in the top 10% is something ridiculous like 97.6% or, so with that statistic alone I think UVA is a reach for you.

Do you have any chance? Yes. You are not just throwing your money away applying to UVa. Your grades, test scores, and ECs give you a legitimate shot at getting in. Being URM helps, too.

But it’s not a great chance. Keep in mind that the OOS acceptance rate is around 25% or so… and the OOS-IS tuition difference is among the largest in the nation, around $28,000, so if you don’t have financial need, the cost could be out of reach.

Is there any chance you can excel enough at soccer to compete at the college level? An athletic scholarship would take care of both the admission and cost problems.

Thanks for the responses guys. I would like financial aid, but it isn’t the most important thing because I am lucky enough to be pretty well off. I also could play soccer in college and have several offers. However, UVa is a top school for women’s soccer… I don’t think I’m THAT good haha.

Seems like your school inflates GPA a lot. You have 4.5 W and 3.85 UW and still not in top 10%

A lot of people pile on dual enrollment classes that I just don’t have the time for with soccer. Even when I had a 4.0 I was just barely top 15%. Now I’m top 17%…
