Hey guys. I visited Vassar recently and fell madly in love with it. Unfortunately, I have no idea how realistic that is... I thought I was a more or less strong candidate but after reading some of these other posts I'm not really sure about that anymore...

-Personal-
White. Girl. Nothing unique there. I'm legally blind without glasses, if you want to count that as a disability...? My eyes are two different colors...

-Academic-
ACT: 31
SAT: 2160 (1410 reading and math)
GPA: 3.97/4.25 (I have one B+ :/ )
I'm in full IB (7 IB classes both Jr and Sr year, the toughest courses offered at my school.)
Top 5% of my class.
I'm at the #1 public high school in my state.

-Extracurricular-
4 years of drama club (this includes many hours of community service)
VP of film club for 2 years
4 years of VP for JSU
Volunteer at school blood drives
Honorary page at the Oregon State House of Reps (with Mary Nolan)
Runner-up at regional spelling bee...
Principle roles in 3 school productions: Jesus Christ Superstar, Macbeth, Imp. of Being Ernest
Paid teacher's assistant at a local Montessori school for 2 summers.
Editor of school arts journal, Polyglot, along with a published author within that journal.
Uh...I'm not really supposed to say this because I haven't received it yet, but I am the assumed recipient of my school's Creative Writing senior award, a pretty big honor.

-My "unique" stuff-
I am an avid writer, especially playwright. I've been featured in 2 student short-play showcases and the Fertile Ground New Works Festival, a citywide showcase for new plays. I've had another short play developed and performed at JAW: Just Add Water, a national playwrights festival as a Promising Playwright alongside adult, professional playwrights such as Marc Acito, Naomi Iizuka, and Will Eno (I was sixteen at the time of both of these, the youngest in the program). My work has been reviewed on many popular blogs and in a local news journal. More recently, I was chosen to write my high school's winter production in my junior year, and am currently in the process of writing next year (my senior year's) winter show as well. The latter will be performed as part of the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland next summer. I've been contacted by UCSD and Yale reps about studying with them for my MFA in playwriting, but... I have to get an undergrad degree first, so I'm trying to do that at Vassar. This really is my passion, and I have worked really hard to distinguish myself, my work and my voice despite my age, and people tell me that 'different' things like this are the sort of thing that Vassar looks for? I really loved the school, and I am considering sending in one of my short plays (about 8 pages) for YourSpace. Would that be a good idea?

Thoughts? Comments? Concerns? Anything...?!
Thanks!! :)
