I play soccer and run track for my high school and I am involved in numerous ECs in and out of school.

So what do you all think my chances are at being accepted into VT, primarily the engineering school, or any other competitive unis? I've only taken the SATs once and my math potential is probably in the high 700s (i aced the first 2 sections, but did not manage my time well enough on the third section). Also, I'm sure I can improve my verbal and writing section scores as well. I know I still have some time before applying to colleges but I just want to get a feel for where I'm at i guess.

Thanks

I think you look very good for Va Tech.

Even for the engineering school? I was hoping for something more critical I guess, but thanks.

The aveage gpa for entering engineering students is a 3.8/4.0 and the average engineering SAT is 1275. Hope this helps.

Yes, that helps a lot. Thanks!

my friend just got into VT engineering. his scores were like yours except with an 800. in addition, his is in-state...

what i recommend is you write about engineering in your essay (essay topic is your choice) to boost your stake among other outofstate people

ps. dont do Ap chem AND ap bio senior year. choose one...

Thanks for your input. My SAT score will definitely improve and I'll be sure to include engineering in my essay.

And I'm not really sure which course to take next yr., AP Chem or AP Bio. I really like Chemistry but AP Chem is the hardest course and taught by the hardest teacher (although I did get an A- in her honors class) and AP Bio has an easy reputation (As are common) a good teacher and i got an A in Bio H, but I'm not really interested in bio.
I don't think it's that big of a decision but whatever.
