chance at WashU?

<p>hi everyone... i'm a freshman at NYU and i was wondering if anyone could give me an idea as to whether or not you think i can get into WashU for the Fall '06 term.</p>

<p>i'm a little paranoid because they encourage a year of academic work, and i'm only sending my application in after one semester. anyway, here are my stats:</p>

<p>1220 SATs (bleh...) 590M, 630V
730 on the writing SAT II</p>

<p>3.8/3.9 GPA for HS</p>

<p>3.25 GPA for my first semester of college</p>

<p>I also assume that my HS record will count since i'm only a freshman. I had a lot of ECs, 2 of which i was involved with for all 4 years and i was an officer for both clubs (FBLA and multicultural club), and i had a lot of volunteer work as well---for the past 5 years, i've devoted 25+ hours per week working at animal shelters.</p>

<p>i know WashU is very picky, which is why i sent out my app already (it's rolling admission, and they notify you within a month; the deadline is originally april 15th). if anyone would be able to read my essay to give me a better idea, i'd really appreciate it!</p>

<p>hopefully i'll get in, i've never wanted anything more than this!</p>

<p>i also forgot to mention that i was in the honor society, and i competed in FBLA events for the state/region and placed well.</p>

<p>how come you are transfering out of NYU?</p>

<p>it's just not for me. i thought i wouldn't want a campus, but i do. there are just too many people and it's way too easy to feel lost and overwhelmed. not a very welcoming environment...at least not for me.</p>
