i know some people here have OUTSTANDING resumes and its really intimidating.. but here are really brief stats

gpa: 4.031
SAT: 2240 ( 790 M 740 V 710 W )
SAT II: 770 Chinese 750 Math I 620 Physics (disaster, retaking)
Rank: top 10% in competitive suburban school

Most Rigorous Courseload
taught myself chinese (haha although i have no idea if that would impress at all)
Lots of ECs including President of Asian Cultures and Traditions Club, President of NHS, President/Creator of Astrophysics Club
Lots of Community Service including self organized townwide book drive

Interned at Yale School of Medicine

Connecticut Resident

Father- Professor at Yale
Mother- Research Scientist at Yale

i know im not that great stats wise, but given that both my parents work there as well, what do you think my chances are?

Do a search for Freckly Becky from last year. Her dad is a professor at Yale and she did research at Yale while in HS. She was deferred EA/rejected RD and is at UMich this year.

I don't see any way that you could be rejected. Not only do your parents both work there, but you interned there as well. Your stats are good also. Say hello to yale!

wrong again unless there is big money involved

Youre saying that Yale would reject someone whose father is a professor and mother is a researcher at Yale, and who has a 4+ gpa and a 2200+ SAT???
Why
Why
Why
would they do that!?

Science National Honor Society

submitted research paper on Hypoxia in Clinical Medicine after my internship at the medical school with my name in it

organized fundraiser to sponsor children to go to elementary school in a poorer region of China

...

i dont know.. mixed reviews? im trying to decide whether to apply to their EASC. what do you guys think?

btw, does a good interview impression do anything for you?
i clean up good, lol :p

thanks for the link..yeah im in a very similar position frecklybeckly was in last year, but besides the fact that her dad is also a professor and she also interned (probably like every other son or daughter of professors there), our other stats are different. however her case does show a professor father does not guarentee admission. But if you consider my stats alone and not compare them to hers, what would you think my chances were?
