Asian Male (chinese)
UW GPA: 4.00 class rank 1: (shared with 6-7 people)
4 AP classes senior year. Taking the most rigorous course available for our school.
Junior
planning to ED Johns Hopkins

Lets start with my weaknesses
SAT I:
Reading-510
Writing-520
Math-740
(Going the ACT path)

ACT: first time ~2 hour study
Math-34
Science-31
Reading-25
English-21
Composite-28

My goal is to get a 30 composite on the ACT

EC:
Music and lots of it- Piano for 7 years. 7-8 trophies. District winner and state participant. Attended a summer camp my sophomore year. ~$1,000 scholarship winnings. In a music organization that aids children into developing music in their lives. I also play violin. In the top orchestra since freshman year. Deciding to quit orchestra my senior year to take college chem. I think I already have too much music in my life and it takes up a lot of time.

High School Basketball Team: JV as of now and planning to play Var next year but that will be after apps.

Apprentice for a research project in environmental chem-~300 hours

Interning a doctor/surgeon~30 hours

Academic Allstars finalist-performing arts category

Mathclub vice-president, NHS, Science club, Link crew (aid incoming 8th graders with HS)

Extra:
Legacy-Brother attending JHU.

Questions:
obviously... my chances
Should I totally disregard SAT and go ACT route?
Should I drop my orchestra class for College chem? (Our school doesnt offer AP chem)

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

The difference between your ACT and SAT is negligible.

But Hopkins will probably pass ED. If you're applying for Premed, they'll definitely pass.

If it's your dream school, then still apply. But load your list with more reasonable options.
