Chance based on the Objectives only (High scores, low GPA)

This is like a mini-chance. I just want a quick chance on the following schools based on my objective accomplishments:

UC Berkeley
UC Los Angeles
UC San Diego
UC Santa Cruz
Cornell University ED
Carnegie Mellon University
University of Michigan
Tufts University
Colgate University
University of Wisconsin - Madison
Boston University
*UMass - Amherst
*University of Minnesota - Twin Cities
*University of Iowa

= possibly safety school? Should I even apply to these?

I'm an Asian Male immigrant originally from China then to NY then to CA. I currently reside in LA County.

First Generation College Student. Neither parents went to even high school.

Academics:
9-12 UW GPA: 3.55
9-12 W GPA: 3.69
UC (10-11) UW GPA: 3.92
UC (10-11) W GPA: 4.17

Class Rank: Abysmal. Because of my freshman year, and to an extent my sophomore year, I'm not even in top 25% of my class.

9th grade: Horrible. Didn't care about school. Low grades and useless courses.
10th: Better. 3.83 GPA but took no H/AP.
11th: Good. 2 H/1 AP and straight A's. 4.42 GPA. Also went crazy and decided to take 10 AP tests.
12: Great. Currently getting straight A's and taking 5 AP courses in addition to taking a course a local community college.

12th grade courses:
AP Statistics
French 3 (even though this appears on my transcript, I'm practically taking the AP class. My French teacher will mention this)
AP Calculus BC
AP Physics B
AP Microeconomics/Honors Government
AP English Literature
Dual enrolling in college Biology.

As you can see, notable upwards trend.

Test Scores:
Highest SAT in one sitting: 2300
Highest CR+M in one sitting: 1550
Other SAT scores: 2100 & 2090

ACT: 31 Composite, 32 E, 34 M, 31 R, 26 S, 29 E+W

SAT Subject Tests:
Math II - 800
Chemistry - 740 Retaking
US History - 740
French w/ Listening - not taken yet

Took 10 AP tests Junior year: Six 5's, three 4's, and one 3.

Received National AP Scholar Award.

Others:
Assume average ECs and experienced many hardships in life.

Bumpercars

I don’t get it. What am I doing wrong that’s repelling people from posting in my threads.

Every time someone looks at this thread without responding, a Smugleaf and two Mudkipz dies.

:'(

I’m lonely.

:( my thread is lonely as well. Well, I don’t know much except what I’ve read about on this forum so far. But I would say that your record looks good! The only schools that I have any sort of experience or knowledge about are UC’s, and I would say that you are a good candidate. I think you are pretty much guaranteed at Santa Cruz and San Diego, and you have a good chance for UCLA and UC Berkeley.

What I guess I would say is lacking is your EC’s. You don’t really go into it much but now would be the time to rack up as much crap as possible. Also, maybe you had ought to go out for a sports team next semester? This probably looks good. Join a club?

Lastly, regarding your freshman year, you should rack your brain to find some particularly clearly-defined reason as to why you were not motivated or whatever. I think that having an actual reason, or at least being able to explain yourself (although don’t get defensive), is better than saying that you just didn’t care about school in your essay. And if you can’t come up with a reason, try some bs! Say that your family was going through an extremely rough time and rather than being encouraged towards school you were made to work for the family or something. It’s probably best if it’s half-true; bs spun off of something that actually happened. I bet there was ONE somewhat major mishap in your 8th or 9th grade year, capitalize on that.

Muhahaha. Nice meme reference. Good luck. [Chance me ifyoulike.](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1023740-transfer-chances-ucs-ivies-suggestions-please.html)

I do have good ECs (I just didn’t post them because I want to be chanced based on stats) but they’re nothing really outstanding. I do have a good reason for my previous poor performance.

Thanks for posting and chancing. Sorry I can’t chance you since I’m not familiar with transfer admissions.
