Essay: I think it was fairly strong. I spent a good deal of time on it and I liked it, but didn't love it. Still, I thought it was better than most of the essays I've read from other people, including some who were admitted to Wash U.

Recs: I mean I know they're very praising, and one of the teachers is pretty eloquent, but I can't be sure how the recs stack up against others.

I'm from WV so I should get a little bit of help from geography

Washington University in St. Louis - High Match
Brown - Low Reach
Yale - Reach
Harvard Reach
UPenn - Low Reach
Tufts - Match
Oberlin - Match

If colleges like your essays and the fact that you're from WV:

Washington University in St. Louis - match
Brown - reach
Yale - reach
Harvard - reach
UPenn - match
Tufts - match
Oberlin - match

What classes are you in? Mostly AP/Honors? I'm assuming so because your GPA is solid and so is your SAT I. assuming you are taking a challenging courseload:

ivies-reach
tufts - match/high match
washu and oberlin - match

Class schedule is one of the most important factors in admission (although at places like ivies, you can't differentiate yourself that much even with a very strong schedule).

i wouldn't be surprised if you got into at least 1 of your reach schools though, if not more

You look like a competitive applicant. You're gpa and rank are decent. SAT and ACT are great. subjects, a little low. i like your ec's a lot though. yeah for all-state basses! i am one myself. the poetry stuff is awesome! that's so cool. i think the ivies are definitely reaches. but doesn't mean there's no shot. cuz you definitely have one. very nice.

Yeah my classes this year are 2 AP's, 2 Honors, a peer educators class, and two 300-level college classes.
