(and yes, i do have safeties which im not posting here - they ARE safeties after all)

SORRY ITS SUCH A LONG READ

So please chance me? I realize that I'm asian, andmy academics aren't that great , but I'm hoping that my extracurricular and involvement in art balances that out? And in terms of my grades, ive improved it and im continuing to improve it throughout senior year, so would they see my upward trend? I'm not a great standardized test taker - yea, i know. it's BS, but true. notice the huge difference between the standardized US History SAT II opposed to the AP US History exams - i know, weak excuse. im not writing that, but its true and I'm working really really hard to enahnce my test-taking abilities

*I'm also going to retake my SAT I for regular decision, and i expect to get 2150 (since the writing score was an abhorration of what I usually got on the 16 practice tests i took - i firmly believe that i can score higher on that section)

thanks

and if u want, list any other schools for me?

mayi, the outlook for an accomplished Asian artist/scientist is reasonable. Hopefully your recommenders will address your upward academic trend in and the discrepancy between your CR score and your real life verbal ability.

I presume that you've put together a knockout slide portfolio. If you haven't already done so you should assemble a comprehensive art package including your slides; a resume highlighting your accomplishments, awards, courses, grades; a brief personal statement; a third recommendation from an art teacher or mentor; a very selective (2 maximum) assortment of media articles about you.

I wouldn't want to project your chances at the other schools. My son was interested in most of them, but in the end chose Williams ED and had a wonderful experience in the art department -- both studio and history. I think of all of the schools on your list Williams is the only one at which being Asian is actually a plus. I don't know your safeties, but for less selectives I would also look at Hamilton, Skidmore, Kenyon, Vassar and if you are female, Smith.

yea, i already have a 20 slide portfolio ready

bump10char

definitely send in supplemental materials. The studio art program here is very strong and I'm pretty sure they get to send a few names of their top choices over to admissions. Also, make sure you talk about the change in your grades if that's what's worrying you. You can submit a supplemental paragraph or make it the subject of your essay.

I got my senior quarter grades (which our school gives us the option of sending to colleges) and i am proud to say i did the best ive ever done my high school life

Senior year courses
AP AB Calculus (A-)
AP Psychology (A)
AP English Language and Composition (A-)
AP Biology (A+)
