Chance chance chance!!!!

Hi! I'm thinking about applying early decision to either Duke or Cornell, i still have to choose. My dad is an alumni at Duke, but Cornell seems easier to get in. I was considereing Darthmouth but because some kid decided to reject the ED couple years ago my schools in a big fight with them. This senior year was the first time a kid got accepted there in like 7 years.

I know i'm only a sophmore but can you chance me and give me any recommendations on what to improve on?

I go to a public school and i'm asian

ACT: 30 as a sophmore so i'm definately redoing it

8th grade: (i Took early bird math)
Plane and Solid Geometry Honors: (A-, B)

Freshman:
Health: A-
Intro to Business: A
Biology: B+, A
Advanced Algebra with Trig Honors: A-, B+
World Civ Honors: B-, B+
Spanish 2H: B-, B
English 1H: B, B+

Yea, my freshman grades sucked

Sophmore
Art: A+
MAndarin: A, A+
Chem H: A,A
Math Analysis: A-, A-
Modern Euro AP: A-, A
Spanish 3H: B, B
English 2H: A, A

I'm not really quit sure what my GPA is, but i think weighted on a 5 scale it should be around a 4.95 or 4.9
BUt there are kids in my school with over 5s because AP and Honors is out of 5.83 for the A+

Extracurriculars:
Yearbook: 10, and continuing, hopefully becoming an ediotor next year
Soccer: 9, 10 and continuing, but probably never on varisty
Cross country: 10 and continuing, i'm decent but not on varsity

Next year I'm planning to do Women's Club, Environmental Club, and hopefully Global Connections

Decent amount of community service hours, but i'm planning to do major outdoor community service such as restoring lands

Do you have any more commendations to improve on?

cornell stresses fit, you gotta fit with the major/school you’re applying to within cornell. sounds like you like environmental stuff, if keep that up, you could fit well with the agriculture school

your grades look fine

Well I actually wanted to apply for business or economics…?

cornell’s not easier to get in, especially if your dad is a Duke alum

well then, since you have 2 years ahead of you, do stuff that stresses those interests more then

by the way, the applied economics and management (AEM) major actually happens to be in the ag school
