The figures are from the UF admissions annual report. The they say “accepted” which is a vague term that could mean admitted or enrolled. Not sure.
@houndmom So sounds like your daughter is attendung UF this fall congrats. what were her grades and scores. Curious.
@jhmoney Yes. D is thrilled to be attending UF. It was the place that made her light up when we toured last summer and it was a bit of a reach.
She is OOS (one of top publics in state) and stats are GPA 4.5 & ACT 28 (I think, know they are pretty close). When she applied early Fall her ECs included 9 varsity letters for XC/T&F plus 2 more for Equestrian. She was captain several seasons, part of student government, received leadership awards, local community service, etc.
FWIW she applied soon after UF released their application and was very thoughtful when answering the 4 supplemental questions. I know this shouldn’t matter, but we are full pay OOS tuition - call me a cynic, but I think that helps everywhere. A couple of kids from her HS with higher stats were not accepted for Fall term.
Good luck. Go Gators!
This is this year’s class. It’s the accepted numbers, they don’t come out with enrolled numbers until the end of September/early October. Note that they accepted about 3,100 students into PaCE and increase over the previous year.
Notice that the targeted amount was 6,500 for enrolled (on-campus)freshman. UF is rare, in that over the last few years, it has been reducing the number of incoming freshman, in an effort to improve the freshman experience (better student to faculty ratios, etc.).
State funding has allowed it to be contrarians when it comes to freshman enrollment. Of course, the price to pay, is increase competition for fewer on-campus slots. UF has reduced freshman enrollment several times since the 80’s.
UF wants to INCREASE, junior and senior (upper class man) enrollment. UF has plenty of capacity to support them. That’s one reason they came up with the PaCE program.
@Gator88NE well hoping they slightly go back up for this next acceptance round. hoping the 4.65 UF GPA and the 1310, plus her EC’s and leadership/essay do the trick
