<p>Your ACT and GPA is a bit on the low side for UIUC’s engineering department. I don’t think volunteer hours and ECs count for much except in very borderline situations.</p>
<p>Top 10% of your class and an ACT over 30 would give you a better shot. It will also depend on whether you took the most rigorous course load available and if you aced all your math and science classes and did less well in English and history.</p>
<p>You could well get admitted to UIUC, but not to the engineering department.</p>

<p>It’ll definitely help. Are you taking the most rigorous course load available and are you acing all your math and science classes? Engineering is highly quantitative.</p>
<p>Now that I think back, CS is offered in both engineering and LAS, isn’t it? The non-engineering version should be easier to get into.</p>
