Chance Cornell Female Env Eng

I have a 3.47 GPA. Should go up after this term.

I'm applying to Cornell for Environmental Engineering.

I'm a first generation college student, my mother is incapcitated. I've been self-supporting for 2 years and live across the country from my custodial parent.

I've taken
Calc I &II both B's.
Physics-B
Chem I- A Chem II- B
Eng I&II- A
Bio- A

Otherwise everything else has been an A.

I'm currently taking
Statics
Calc III
Engineering Materials
ArcGIS
Excel

I have an odd academic record. I graduated HS with a 3.85 unweighted GPA and 30 college credits. There is one C on my transcript for Pre-Calc, my dad was getting remarried and it impacted my living situation dramtically.

I didn't do super hot on my SAT's R-670 and M-600 but that shouldn't matter anymore. There are two gaps in my college eduction. One was a trimester after HS where I decided to get my financials in order before I headed back to college.
The second was a semester. I moved across the country as home was not providing me with the support I needed. I grew up in a high crime area and most people I knew fell into drugs and crime.

I do have strong extracirriculars but not in engineering. (I've been working up to it)
I won top prize in 2 business plan competitions at Syracuse University for a cidery/distillery.
I also participated in the Student Sandbox which is a business incubator.
I have also done conservation work for 2 summers, one in a leadership position.
I worked as a caregiver which is when I decided I would rather be an environmental stewardess than provide care direct care.
I taught sex education for 3 years with two different organizations.
I participate in the National Society for Professional Engineers at my CC.
I volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

In high school, I taught Outdoor school and was a part of ASL Honor Society but mostly I just taught sex education. I sat down with my school administration and convinced them to change their sex education policy.
