Chance Dartmouth ED

Alright, I'm planning on applying to either Yale SCEA or Dartmouth ED. Chance me for both.

---Race:
Asian

---Class Rank:
Top 10% (we go by deciles)

---Rigor:
Honors/AP Classes - Freshman year(5/7 classes), Sophomore Year(6/7 classes), Junior Year(5/7 classes), Senior Year (5/6 classes)

The regular classes are required classes like health and PE.
The AP classes are AP Statistics, AP Language and Composition, AP Psychology, AP US History, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus BC, and AP Literature and Composition.

---Test scores:
I made a 36 composite on the ACT. That's a PERFECT SCORE. I haven't taken the SAT. SAT Subject Tests aren't immediately required for Dartmouth ED. I'll take them in December.

---ECs:
I have established a new detention/behavior problem program at my school for kids who get in trouble. This has been implemented.
I founded and run my own business.
I have a 30 hour/week business internship at a local startup.
I am President of DECA Business/Marketing club.
I founded a club which encourages direct involvement with world hunger.

---Stuff which I was good at but not all that great at:
I was a finalist several times in Speech and Debate. I was very close to qualifying for state in two separate events.
I ran cross country for 3 years. I won a few races.

Your chances are looking pretty good for Dartmouth. I wouldn’t call it a match for anyone, but definitely a low reach. I would focus your essays away from academics and just let the numbers do the talking.

You’d be in at Dartmouth, Yale is a crapshoot with no hook but you have a good shot there too.

Unless you’re at the very top of the top decile (colleges will know) and you can really make one of your ECs stand out, try Dartmouth. They will also expect you to be very high in your class but don’t need the world class ECs Yale does.
