Essays

Essays are good and show a genuine interest in business.

THANK YOU

As you said, your GPA is your weakest part, but everything else is good. You have a good shot, although with schools like this it is impossible to guarantee anything. Work really hard on your essays.

Looks good to me with the dedicated ECs; my read of last year's ED results on this Board was that those with 2200+ SATs who were rejected outright seemed to have only top 10% class ranks- so that is your risk but you seem to have improved the intangibles with the ECs.

bump..........

Did you work part-time during the school year? If so, that's impressive. Make sure to highlight it.

Be careful about your essay; I've read many distasteful essays about applicants' "genuine interest in business".

i agree, your main weakness is the GPA. make sure your guidance counselor emphasizes how hard your schedule is and the difficulty of your classes (honors/ap, advanced math etc.). other than that your chances will 80% DEPEND on how good your essay is. dyniets is right, you need to make sure your essays don't sound trite.

And which high school do you go to? PM me, I'm from around the area.

Would anyone be able to tell me my chances at getting into Upenn Wharton. I really want to get in to study actuarial science. It is a very small field and I hope that can count as somewhat of a hook.

SAT: 710 CR 730 MATH (I made stupid mistakes) 740 WRITE = 2180
