Can you guys chance me based on this? Does it help being vietnamese?

Unfortunately your SAT scores, particularly the 600 CR score, are too low to have a good chance at WashU. Your CR+M score is below their 25th percentile.

I would advise you against applying ED to WashU, and instead pick a less selective school if you want to apply ED somewhere. Look for a school where your SAT scores are above the 50th percentile.

You might also want to consider taking the ACT to see if you do better on it than on the SAT. It has a science section, which if you do well on can reduce the impact of a relatively poor CR score.

^That’s ridiculous advice. You don’t pick ED and then apply to a school because you can ed. You pick a school and then potentially consider applying early.

If washu is the op’s first and foremost choice (and can say certainly that if they got in they would be ecstatic to go to washu), and financial aid isn’t a big concern, then the op should most definitely apply ed.
ED is the op’s best chance of getting in to washu.

Although I do agree that (if it’s not too late), the op should try the ACT. My ACT was the equivalent of 200 points higher than my SAT.

Johnson181, I understand your point about ED, but still stand by my advice to this particular OP. I browsed his other posts and get the sense that he doesn’t have a favorite school, but is shopping around for a school to apply ED to, in order to get an admissions boost.

ED can provide an admissions boost, and can make the difference between acceptance or rejection at a slight reach school. However, ED won’t help for a super-reach school. He only has one ED opportunity, so why waste it on a school where he has very low odds?

The good news is that there are lots of great schools where the OPs stats will be very competitive for admission. Or, if the SAT or ACT scores go up enough, WashU might be.

^Fair enough then, if that’s the op’s goal. I didn’t go through their post record.
