Chance: Entrepreneurial Experience

-I know this is more of a "College Chance" post, but I wanted the direct opinion of Wharton Alums, Undergraduates, Current Students, and etc, etc.-

- Held a Clothing Company for 2 Years (Started in Middle School) ~ SOLD
- Held a Rogue HTML5 Agency to Steal Big Agency Clients (Micro-Managed Design Licenses at $10 - $50 a piece, sold to Small Business Clients at $500 - $1000 to help them out of the overpriced low option gutting)
- Held a Product Design company, tried to manufacturer first "Invention" in Tech, failed miserably and lost ALL the money from the aforementioned two companies, went slightly into debt which was promptly paid off.
- CURRENTLY holding a lucrative company that I am working on, trying to secure seed funding and working out a deal as of right now. Can't really emphasize because I don't want to jinx it and look like an idiot.

I've taken rigorous senior level only AP classes (AP Microeconomics/AP US GOV) in my sophomore year, I have around a 3.8 GPA this year, but Freshmen year I messed around and ended up with a 2.95GPA, which is an incredibly stark difference and miserable downplay on what I am capable of. I'm worried I might of dug my own grave from that alone though. I take Biology and English Honors, and hold a 1450 Lexile Literary and Comprehension score, (to scale, average 10th grader should be at a 700 - 900 Lexile).

~ Please Chance Me! ~ (Even though I don't have SAT's)

Bump. Bump. Bump.

I don’t feel qualified to chance you.

You seem to really know the direction you want to go in. You have the passion for business side down pat. It’s yet to be determined how you will test but you are on track.

Your GPA is headed in the right direction.

I suggest rounding out your application with a well-rounded set of activities/hobbies. A charity, play a musical instrument, do a sport. Don’t do something just to check a box. Just find a passion that gives u pleasure, makes life enjoyable.

GPA is paramount – and if you want to go IB, focus especially on Math. Good luck

You can do your own research but I would ignore what T26E4 said about math for investment banking. IB requires a high GPA from a top school (like the ones that you posted) and a lot of networking. Besides for the four basic operations, there isn’t much more math, if you are interested in a front office position. Middle office/risk management roles are a whole other story. Look at Mergers & Inquisitions or Wall Street Oasis for more information about finance and banking
