Reach b/c of the testing.

JHU don't give a ish about testing or so I've heard...

yeah my testing sucks but im from georgia so hopefully that will give me a geographic advantage. who knows none of us can predict what admissions will do...i guess we'll find out in a few months!

i am from Georgia

i know many people from my school with high sat in the 2200 applying JHU.

JHU is eminent and many students are going to apply there.

of course many people are going to apply there, and I wasnt trying to imply that I am the only person from GA that is applying. But it is a fact that less people from states like GA or Alabama or Mississippi are applying that in northern states where JHU is more well-known. Anyone is applying from GA has a geographic advantage, not just me. Not to mention that these "many people" who are applying from your school may have a strong SAT score, but they may lack in ECs, etc. Not everything is based on numbers.

*Anyone that is

You're testing seems fine. But I'm personally impressed by the amount of EC's you have -- especially the fact that you started a chapter of the NFL at your school.

I think you have a great chance, although I would've recommended taking your SAT's again, or maybe the ACT; however, I think your EC's are basically phenomenal.

You participated in varsity sports, while working, while also taking part in debate and community service. I think you have a great shot despite your SAT's (which are still pretty good imo).

Good luck =).

Words that you said is true. But what i want to say was that JHU has same level with Ivy League Schools, which means that every students who will apply Ivy leagues is going to JHU at the same time. You have amazing ECs at your school and out of school. But I strongly suggest you to contact the atheletic coach since you have been nominated to GA All Star. This will fill out the low SAT score. And I am applying as doing Track and Field for JHU because i don't have superb grades. Did you take any SAT II?

Did you actually put the senior superlative on your application? It just struck me as funny since my son was voted "most likely to get away with anything" which clearly speaks to his charm AND his love of having a good time, but is not something I would think colleges care very much about OR I would want them to know. Plus, how many spring musicals does your school have? I see les miserables and suessical for 12.

yeah, i put senior superlative on my app because i think that being "most spirited" shows a love for your school and i think it may demonstrate that if i go to johns hopkins i will be one of the kids that gets really into the lacrosse games, etc. I don't think theres anything wrong with putting a senior superlative on an app. However, most spirited is a little different than getting "most likely to get away with anything" but I would definitely put that on an app if i were him because it shows that your son has a charming personality. Oh and at my school getting most spirited is kind of like another leadership position...you are expected to lead the student section at games, get people together to paint signs, etc. Our high school is very athletic minded and attending those events are important to me so i thought it was a good thing to put on my app.
as for the musicals, we have two. One is in late march and is a strictly extra-curricular production. The other is a part of the class and is in early may. I'm not sure if other schools only have one...all I know is what we do.
Oh and rifelife I will be taking 3 subject tests this month. I'm really good at history so hopefully i'll fare well on that one.

Your are a Trojan. Do you go to Lassiter.

januaray?

that is really risky, but better than not taking.

The score will come out at Feb and will arrive at JHU at late Feb.

THis is a gamble. i am taking bio m too this month. and i already took 3 sat subject test ; p
