1 and #4 are high reaches. Also, you don’t have any test scores so it’s hard to give you something concrete

@AnnieBeats what about the other?

It’s hard to say. Going by GPA only, Northwestern and William and Mary are high reaches. For everything else, your GPA isn’t terrible, but you need a test score to get a more concrete prediction. I think that if you are in state at UMD, you could get in. Legacy may help you with that too. But I’m not too familiar with legacy there

Allright thanks!

Ivies are in the Northeast. There are schools throughout the rest of the country that are selective as they are, just to name a few: Stanford, Duke, Northwestern. William and Mary is also highly selective. Look at the yields and the stats of the entering classes.

heyyyy. It’s hard to give you an educated response when we don’t have test scores to look at. Add those and lemme know:)

What’s your ranking?

@s2Stan what do you mean?

Update: Just recieved my SAT scores and out of 1600 I scored a 1120

The new SAT is out of 2400. Make sure to add in that writing score. Take a look at my chance me thread and try to portray your info like that, then we can help you a lot more.

Chance Back
<a href=“Am I Overly Optimistic with my chances? - State Forums - College Confidential Forums”>Am I Overly Optimistic with my chances? - State Forums - College Confidential Forums;

So you scored below 1900? Below 1800 even. I am thinking high matches to reaches on all your stuff. I don’t know the schools well enough but that’s what id say. Chance back! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1662649-do-i-stand-a-chance-at-top-schools.html#latest</a></p>

Yes, need the writing score (actually need full breakdown of all 3 scores). I suspected a 2100 was a high estimate given your GPA (it would be out of line on the high end for you to score 2100 with a 3.3 GPA).

William & Mary and Northwestern are high reaches, everything else is a mid to high match.

Chance me back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1662008-2-8-gpa-2000-first-time-sat-urm-umass-amherst-others-ea.html#latest</a></p>

If you want the blatant truth, I think that all of the above schools would be a reach. In order to get into these schools, you would need a GPA of at least 3.5 UW and 4.1W. Furthermore, you would want to have an SAT score of above 2000 (especially for Northwestern which you would need a score greater than 2100). I would say that Northwestern might be a little bit too far of a school to reach for. If I were you, I would choose which of the other schools I desire the most and apply to that one ED. Other than that, good luck!

@collegeboygpa‌ while i value your opinion I’m almost certain that I will get into the others. I understand Northwestern and William and Mary are very high ranking schools and they are dream schools and that’s why I have safety and realistic choices.

I’m sorry, @EKGCCO19‌, but why are you posting on this website and asking for your chance, then telling those who try to help you that you’re “certain” you’ll get into the others…? Why even ask if you’re certain…

Because I’m trying to gauge what chances I have at the “dream” schools and what I could possibly do to improve my chances
