Chance for a nervous junior for film?

Looking into cinema/film studies. Several kids from my school have gone to U of P over the last few years and rave about it although none are in the film major. This major sounds really perfect for my interest in the study and analysis of film vs. many courses that are mostly about film making.

quick stats....someone tell me if I am out of my league.

GPA: About 3.5/3.6 as of now. Have taken two languages since grade 8 which are optional after three years. Plan to continue with at least one senior year. HOnors Spanish and Latin. Also Honors math, should be AP next year (not offered this year), AP english lit this year and should be another AP english next year. Should also pick up AP US History next year. Heaviest course load available. Top notch, very competitive private NYC school. Take Film electives last two years...incl. analysis, reports and short films..consistently get A's in this class and it does count towards GPA.

PSAT: 196. SAT expectations based on practice testing: 650 M, 690 CR, 780 WR. Will take SATII in English, Math and Latin.

EC's: Founder/President of School Film Club, Will be 5 year Varsity swimmer next year, Entertainment Section Editor, School Paper since Grade 9. Selected at Junior Peer Leader/Mentor this year. Community Service: in addition to in school requirement, volunteer as swim coach for non profit swim camp in summers for three years, 2 summer internships for finance/media company, Cornell swim camp.

Would love to have any opinions...

If that is your GPA weighted, then your chances aren't good. Actually, even if it's your unweighted GPA, the average 2120 SAT will not make up for it. Raise your grades, score as high as possible (higher than 2120) on the SAT Reasoning Test and aim for 800s on the SAT Subject Tests. Write excellent essays that showcase your commitment to swimming and interest in film, or whatever else you want to write. In a sentence, there is definitely room to boost your chances.

I am kicking myself for overloading the course load...I would have a higher GPA without the additional honors language but I always thought it best to show that I can challenge myself. How competitive is the film program vs. others..do they cut you any slack because of the specificity of this major? Is it a very popular major?
