I don't really post on here and I don't like giving advice as someone in the same grade but your grades, stats and ec's were so similar I wanted to reply. I loved Haverford and applied early but I was rejected. My SAT was slightly lower, so I used my ACT which was higher comparatively. What school do you row for? Because I've also rowed varsity for three years and I'm a senior captain (although for the girls team). Anyway, that's just my input, sorry but I'm sort of against judging other applicants as a (former) applicant my self.

I also have never responded to a chance thread, as I don't know why I would be qualifed to judge. I would suggest looking at the stats in the accepted RD thread from last year, linked below. It is amazing how so many super students were denied or waitlisted, but pay special attention to the post by HC Alum, talking about how above a certain academic threshold the committee is trying to build a class with certain characteristics. Taking that into consideration, I would suggest really emphasizing the EC's that make you special...how can you stand out as someone who will contribute something special to the class beyond academics? Maybe take a look at how your guitar could fit into the music scene there and consider sending in a recording of your playing as an arts supplement.

i'm a senior at hav...i got in with slightly lower SAT's but a higher gpa with more AP's...i had roughly the same kind of EC as you, but I also had a coach pulling me in cuz i was an all state sports player... might be tough b/c we only have a club rowing team and i don;t know how big guitar is at our school...might be worth while emailing a professor in the music department to see if you can talk to them about guitar and maybe they might drop a note in admissions for you.
